1st for Women Services

Disability can strike unexpectedly and it can have a devastating impact on your finances, your lifestyle, and your loved ones.

To protect against the financial impact of disability, 1st for Women offers two disability cover options to suit your specific needs.

Choose the cover that suits you best

The first option is occupation-based disablement insurance that’s designed to protect your income if you become disabled and cannot work in your specific occupation. It offers a monthly benefit for a specified period of time or until you reach retirement age.

The amount is based on your income and occupation at the time of taking out the policy. This type of insurance is particularly useful if you have a high-risk occupation or you rely heavily on your income to support your family.

Their second option is the event-based disablement insurance which offers financial protection in the event of a specific disabling event, such as an accident or illness. You get a lump sum benefit that can be used for medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and other expenses related to the disabling event. The amount is determined by the severity of the disability and your chosen level of coverage.

Choose from five levels of cover to suit your needs

There are five different coverage plans available, ranging from R50,000 to R500,000, with daily hospitalisation payouts ranging from R250 to R1000. Premiums for the policy start at R75 per month for the main member, and a discounted premium is available when adding a spouse or partner to the policy.
