The plans and pricing section offers month-to-month subscriptions for five different plans. The Accident Plan starts from R89 per month and covers accidents only while the Basic Plan starts from R199 per month and covers up to 50% of illness claims.

The Standard Plan starts from R349 per month and is more comprehensive, covering both accidents and illness. The Superior Plan starting from R479 per month covers accidents, illness, hereditary conditions, and wellness benefits, and the Ultimate Plan starting from R1 199 per month offers the most coverage with the least limitations.

Some of the most common health issues that dogs may experience, include Canine Distemper, Canine Flu, External Parasites, Heartworm, Leptospirosis, and Parvovirus.

Get your cat covered 

The company offers various plans for cat insurance, including Accidental, Basic, Standard, Superior, and Ultimate, with different levels of coverage for accidents, illnesses, hereditary treatment, and wellness benefits, ranging from R89pm to R1,199pm.

The plans can be cancelled anytime with a month-to-month subscription. The company also provides information on common health issues that cats may experience, such as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, cancer, external parasites, heartworm, diabetes, and respiratory diseases, along with the required treatments.

Comprehensive coverage for your pet's medical needs

Their plans provide comprehensive coverage for a wide range of medical needs. In addition, to cover for accidental injury and illness, it also provides cover for consultations and surgery, hospitalisation, diagnostic tests, prescription medication, and emergency veterinary care.

Dotsure also provides cover for prior conditions, provided that the pet has been symptom-free for 24 months. Waiting periods for new policies are 30 days for illness and 24 hours for accidental injury.

Insuring your pet’s well-being will give you access to a choice of five different plans to suit your budget and requirements, no age limit for pets insured, no breed restrictions, no excess fees, and optional extra cover for routine care, such as vaccinations and check-ups.

Maximum coverage amounts and exclusions

Dotsure’s plans offer different levels of coverage, depending on the plan you choose. The key coverage limits will see you covered for up to R60 000 per year for PetSure Cover, and up to R115 000 per year for PetSure Plus Cover.

There are some exclusions to the coverage, like prior conditions, behavioural problems, and non-essential procedures, such as sterilisation, tail removal or ear cutting.
