Suremed Services

Suremed offers you a choice of four plans which provide you with a cost-effective option based on your specific needs.

Suremed has a three-tier regular plan option which gives you a choice of premium, middle-range, and entry-level plan options to suit your needs. Your choice of a plan should be based on your and your family’s needs rather than solely on the price.

They also have capitated plans which consider your monthly income as a plan option decider. This means you can choose a plan based entirely on your income. The lower your income the lower your monthly contributions can be. All benefits remain the same on the capitated plans.

All plans along with the concomitant pricing and associated benefits are available online. You can also compare plans, as well as options, from other medical aid providers.

Suremed offers four different medical aid plans

Terms and conditions of Suremed membership

Only members of Suremed can claim benefits. You can maintain your membership until you provide written instructions to terminate it. Monthly premiums become your responsibility if you opt to maintain membership after retirement or employment termination.

If the main member dies, registered dependant members can retain their membership without changes to their membership terms and conditions. The scheme will inform dependent members of the payable contributions necessary to retain their membership.

You can add additional dependents to your membership by downloading and completing the relevant form, and your contributions will be adjusted accordingly. You have 30 days from marriage or the birth/adoption of a child to apply to add them as dependents. You can also apply to add a parent as an adult dependent.

If you terminate your membership and reapply for membership, re-entry is not guaranteed. The scheme reserves the right to subject such re-applications to specific conditions.

How to make a claim with Suremed

Your service provider typically processes medical claims for you. You only need to sign the invoice provided, and they’ll submit the claim to the medical aid. If there is an outstanding amount not covered by the scheme, you will need to settle it with your service provider.

If you’ve settled your bill with your service provider, you can send your proof of payment along with the invoice to the medical aid for reimbursement. Ensure that all details, especially membership details, are correct to prevent any potential issues due to inaccurate or incomplete information.

Note: Child dependants age out at 21, but if you provide proof that the child dependant is registered as a student at a university or college, they can continue membership until they turn 24. Proof of continued registration every year will need to be provided until the child turns 24. Such membership will cease when the dependant turns 25.
