Icebolethu Services

Icebolethu Group offers four different funeral cover plans, including Platinum Plus, Gold Plus, Silver Plus, and Casket Plus.

Each plan offers different levels of coverage and premiums, with benefits such as collection of the deceased, storage of the body, washing and preparation of the body, assistance in the registration of death, a casket or coffin, funeral programs, and more.

Funeral cover premiums range from R60 to R205, depending on the plan and the age of the member. Cremation services are also available upon request.

Platinum Plus Funeral Cover: This plan is the most comprehensive and covers all funeral arrangements, including home arrangements, with a two-pole tent, 200 covered chairs, 200 plates, 200 spoons, a gas stove, cooking pots, tables, tablecloths, and 2 buses. The policy also provides R2000 cash and iSave rewards.

Gold Plus Funeral Cover: This plan covers all basic funeral arrangements and includes home arrangements with a two-pole tent, 150 covered chairs, 150 plates, 150 spoons, a gas stove, cooking pots, tables, tablecloths, and 1 bus. The policy provides R1500 cash and iSave rewards.

Silver Plus Funeral Cover: This plan covers basic funeral arrangements, including home arrangements with a two-pole tent, 100 chairs, 100 plates, 100 spoons, a gas stove, cooking pots, tables, tablecloths, and 1 bus. The policy provides R1000 cash and iSave rewards.

Casket Plus Plan Funeral Cover: This plan covers basic funeral arrangements, excluding home arrangements, and has lower premiums as a result. The policy provides R500 cash and iSave rewards.

  • Inkomo + free goat or sheep: This offering provides customers with an option to purchase an Inkomo, a traditional African cow, and receive a free goat or sheep. This is a common cultural practice in some parts of Africa for important events such as weddings or funerals.
  • Tombstone: This offering provides customers with the option to purchase a tombstone for their loved one's grave. Tombstones can be customised with names, dates, and even a short message.
  • Grave: This offering provides customers with the option to purchase a grave for their loved one. The grave can be customised with a tombstone and other items such as flowers or a small fence.

Icebolethu funeral cover: how to apply and what's included

  1. Research the different funeral cover options offered by Icebolethu and choose the one that best suits your needs.
  2. Contact Icebolethu to request more information or to start the application process.
  3. Complete an application form, which may require personal information such as your full name, ID number, contact details, and bank account information.
  4. Choose the premium payment plan that works best for you. They will require a waiting period to expire before the policy becomes active.
  5. Pay the first premium instalment.
  6. Submit any required documentation, such as a copy of your ID and proof of payment.
  7. Wait for the policy to be activated, which can take up to 48 hours.
  8. Familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions of your policy and make sure you understand what’s covered and what’s not.

Icebolethu offers 5 Mahhala Benefits, which are included for free on all of their plans. These benefits include a membership card, an umbrella, access to a 24-hour call centre, free airtime for all networks, and groceries worth R1,500.

Additionally, Icebolethu offers a 10% cashback and a 10% discount on cash funerals for non-members. Members can also get a 10% discount on tombstones and access to legal advice worth R5,000.

The company also provides ambulance response and R10,000 for hospital admission fees, interprovincial road repatriation, HIV/AIDS advice, health advice worth R1,500, trauma counselling, and free will.
