OUTsurance Life Cover

With the main focus on providing South Africans with short-term insurance, OUTsurance was launched in February 2008.

They started as a wholly-owned subsidiary of RMB Holdings. The First National Insurance group was acquired by OUTsurance on the 1st of January 2000.

OUTsurance’s expansion

In 2006, OUTsurance set out for new horizons and launched the OUTsurance Insurance Company of Namibia as a partnership with FNB Namibia. With the launch of Youi in Australia in 2008, they were the first African company that would set up an insurance company in Australia.

In 2010 South Africans saw the launch of OUTsurance Life allowing the group to provide fully underwritten life insurance products. In July 2014, OUTsurance expanded even further with the launch of Youi in New Zealand.

• The Referees project – As an alternative form of employment, OUTsurance believes that rugby and soccer refereeing could be the answer to previously disadvantaged communities.
• The Gun Run project – OUTsurance Life has been sponsoring the Gun Run project for more than 10 years. This project focuses on giving South African runners a safe running environment.

What is life insurance?

Simply explained, a life insurance policy is a contract between a policyholder and an insurance company that serves as a promise.

• Disability cover – With this cover you’ll be paid out a lump sum in the event that you become disabled and you can no longer work.
